After winning the open tender of the Federal Organization to act as the Authorized Representative of the Russian Federation at the Saimaa Canal, GazInTech Service, part of the GazIntech Group, performs a set of work for creating the software for an automated system for issuing and registering special passes for citizens of the Republic of Finland working at the Saimaa Canal for crossing the Russian-Finnish border, as well as for supplying the equipment required for this system.

The system is designed to facilitate the informational and technical support of measures for monitoring how citizens of the Republic of Finland working as service personnel cross the Russian-Finnish state border into the part of the Saimaa Canal that is leased by the Republic of Finland and the territory that lies adjacent to it, pursuant to a treaty between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Finland, signed in the city of Lappeenranta on May 27, 2010.

The special passes are being developed, allowing for international requirements and standards for protected machine-scanned documents, and they will bear the biometric data of their bearers (photo and finger prints). The system is easy to use for the staff of the border authorities and will not create additional inconveniences for citizens of the Republic of Finland who pass legally through the checkpoint.
